The hike ended yesterday, at 4.30 pm. It was wet, muddy, rainy, sweaty, bloody, buggy, hot, sticky and thirsty. But it was fantastic. We bonded as a group alot. We worked together, sweated and bled together, and died together. We assembled at ACSI, then got transported to Mount Faber. We climbed it then came down. At the begining, Ryan looked so tired. So I had to help him. haha. Then later on I think he got used to it and was ok. But I fell. I was leaning on Sgt Cao, and he jerked and i fell. On a gravel road. Not a car road but that kind of road. So now my right knee is all cut and shredded. But it was ok. I FORGIVE YOU CAO! Btw, i was the medic.Haha. Then later on we went to the most haunted place in singapore. (so mr charles ng said) He said it used to be a governer's house then the Japanese took over and made it into a torture place. And the most haunted place was the top floor. It was a big mansion. (we were trespassing) After that we went all around. We had a SIT(situational) test on the way down. We failed it. It was hornet drill. David "died" so we had to do first aid and carry him down a long flight of steps. :S. We used two basha poles and a ground sheet as a makeshift stretcher. So 5 of us were carrying him down, leg first. I was so scared that we would drop him and he would fall all the way down and really die. Btw, we passed that part with flying colours. Yes, he didn't die.
The next SIT test was later on, somewhere else in Singapore. It was pitching a tent in 5 minutes. We also failed that. We did it in 20 minutes. Hehe. We were really disorganised. We were running all around with ground sheets and rafia and the poles and stuff, being really disorganised and frantic and stuff. We passed the second part though, which was stripping our tent in 45 seconds. We did bashing after that, which is using our basha poles to hit tall grass and bushes and stuff to scare off snakes.
We had a SIT test soon after that. It was, guess what, pitching. T_T We failed again. It was doing two tents in 10 minutes. We were sort of halfway through in 10 minutes. Ok, sue me, we were trying to drive the pegs into the ground then. STUPID GROUND. It was really, really hard. Yep. In the middle of that, they gave us another SIT test. Cao "fell". Or rather, was pushed by Wesley after calling him an idiot. Wesley then made it into a SIT test. Btw, Cao, your acting sucked. I didn't really care and continued with the tents. We of course, failed that one too. One, because some of us were still doing the tent and two, because the people doing first aid were doing it wrong. His arm would have spoiled. I got really frustrated with the ground and stuff and the darn SIT test and got really exasperated cos i was hungry and thirsty and hot (I mean like temperature, not my usual hotnesssssss) Then, guess what. ASHER "FELL" ON HIS HEAD. WALAU. We failed that too. His head also would have spoiled. Thankfully, seeing our tiredness, the admin let us have lunch. It was heaven. Actually, it was canned food and oreos and LEXUS biscuits and ribena. And longans and soft drinks for dessert. Still, it was heaven. Oh yeah. When we were doing Asher's test, this old guy on a motorcycle came by and saw him and we told him he was injured. Haha. Then during lunch, he came by again and was amazed at his miraculous recovery.
After lunch, we all got stitches. HAHA. And I got a splitting headache. But I bore with it. Sometime later, it started raining. When it got too heavy, we put on our ponchos. Abit later, it gor really really heavy and we took refuge in a bus stop for half an hour. We told really lame jokes.
We did more bashing after that. Actually, we were in this swampy field and up to our knees in water. Muddy, disgusting water. It was swampy. After about 15 minutes of that, we reached the end. I don't really remember much after that part. Later on, we got to a longkang. We didnt cross it. It was flooded. Anyway, there was a forest/jungle next it. The kind you see at the roadside that no one goes into. We went in. Us and another hike group, but i think the turned back. We didnt. We went right through for I think an hour. There were huge red ants, thick foilage, lots of water and muddy, steep slopes. We survived. After that the hike was pretty much over. We walked to another bus stop to meet with the other hike groups, then marched back to school, singing and cheering.
